Glowing Skin

Some folks are born with a naturally flawless complexion. The rest of us take measures of our own to achieve the same beautiful glow. If you’re among the latter group, here are some simple yet highly effective things you can start doing today that will have everyone asking what your secret is to such radiant skin.

Find Your Zen – Did you know that when you’re stressed, your body produces hormones that can increase oil production, which can lead to acne and other skin problems? Make an effort to stay as calm and stress-free as possible. Practice meditation, mindfulness, enjoy a long mindful walk or soak in a relaxing, warm epsom salts bath. Your skin will thank you.

Keep it Clean – Regardless of whether you prefer to wear lots of makeup or go au natural, the skin on your face is sensitive and needs to be washed regularly. Washing in the morning and right before bed, as well as after any sweat-inducing activity, helps to keep pores clean and ward off things like pimples and other skin problems.

Stay Hydrated – Drinking plenty of water does more than just boost your metabolism. It can also do wonders for your complexion. And while consuming 8 glasses of H20 a day won’t erase your wrinkles, staying hydrated can help reduce their appearance and contribute to a warmer, healthier glow.

Live a Balanced Lifestyle – Simple things, like making sure you’re getting enough sleep, staying physically active during the day and eating wholesome foods can do amazing things for your entire body – including your skin. By achieving a more balanced lifestyle, not only will you feel better, but you’ll look better as well!

Don’t Smoke – Among the litany of awful things smoking can do to your body, it can also wreak havoc on your skin. In fact, according to experts at the Mayo Clinic smoking can speed up the normal aging process of the skin, contributing to fine lines, wrinkles, dry skin and an overall dull appearance. So, if you needed another reason to quit, now you’ve got one.

Wear Sunscreen – Excess sun exposure can lead to more defined fine lines and deeper wrinkles, not to mention the significant increase in risk of skin cancer. Wearing sunscreen can protect against those dangerous UVA and UVB rays that are present even on cloudy days.

Stick with Natural Products – The simpler your skin care regimen, the better. For best results, stick with a couple of core skincare products that contain potent natural ingredients, like Vitamins A, C, E, Green Tea, Aloe, Caffeine and other antioxidants. These ingredients help to support natural, healthy skin without harsh chemicals.

Make the promise to hold your selfcare sacred and your body will thank you for it by feeling energized and looking great!
